Auditing Volume Analyzer helps network administrators to better estimate the volume of event log data being generated by their networks.

The biggest benefit to using the Auditing Volume Analyzer is in capturing an accurate picture of the storage demands associated with preserving security event log data over time. Because of this, administrators may not fully comprehend the disk and database storage requirements to retain that data over time to satisfy the event log audit requirements of federal acts like HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley, and Gramm-Leach-Bliley. The only requirements to use the software are a Microsoft Windows NT / 2000 / XP / 2003 system and a user account with local administrator or domain administrator rights, depending on the network structure.

Event Writer OCX is a free ActiveX Control, Event Writer gives VB5 and VB6 programmers the ability to log to NT's Event Log from within their application. Once a developer adds the control to their VB project, placing entries in the Application log is simply a matter of specifying a message, event type, and source title in a single function call.

Moreover, Event Writer's syntax is virtually the same as the built in Visual Basic Msgbox function, in order to make using the control as intuitive as possible. For the serious NT 4.0 developer, this control is an absolute must!
